About Liz: Liz passed away tragically at age 23 during a hiking accident in Hawaii on June 22, 2013. We will never forget Liz and the unforgettable love that she shared with all who knew her. We think of Liz every day, and we will miss her forever.

Every year, a team of runners runs the Boston Marathon in her honor, to raise funds for the Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Liz's father, Christopher, was at the site of the attack in Boston on April 15, 2013, and got injured in the blast. In true "Boston Strong" spirit, Chris -- a perennial volunteer on Marathon Day -- has become a serial marathon runner and runs in his daughter's memory (most years).

Elizabeth was living her dream in Hawaii, working in a post-graduate program at C & S Wholesalers after graduating from Georgia Tech with honors in the Class of 2011, and from Braintree High School in the Class of 2007. The funds raised for the Memorial Scholarship will benefit young women from Braintree High who exhibit the values Liz held throughout her life, including high academic achievement, community engagement, strength of character, and a love of learning that drove Liz toward her dreams.
